Salix alba (White Willow)

Indigenous to central & southern Europe, Asia & parts of North America.

Contains glycosides, salicylic acid, catechins, tannins, and flavonoids.

Properties of the herb includes: antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and analgesic. Analgesic properties tends to be slow-acting but longer lasting than standard aspirin products. At the correct dose, Salix alba tends to be non-irritating nor damaging to the stomach.

Persons with hypersensitivity to salicylates may also experience a reaction to Salix alba.
